Lunazul’s story began with Francisco Beckmann Senior. A seventh generation descendent of the Beckmann family — the oldest dynasty of tequila producers — he set out on a mission to create the world’s finest 100% agave Tequila.

Born from a long line of Master Tequileros with a deep reverence for agave, Francisco established Tierra de Agaves in 1992, after selling his stake in the family business, keeping his shares of the agave fields to create a premium tequila made with the only the highest integrity, quality, and approachability.

Instilling his love for his craft into his family, he passed along the tradition to his son, Jorge Beckmann, who became president of Tierra de Agaves in 2005.

Today, Lunazul is still a family-run operation located in the heart of Tequila, Jalisco, where it’s proud to continue its mission of creating only the finest, 100% agave premium tequilas.

There are several versions of the origin of the name bourbon. One of the options is by the name of the territory in Virginia, named after the French royal Bourbon dynasty, which helped the United States in the war against England. The second option is by the name of the territory of Fayette, neighboring the Elijah Craig plant, named in honor of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, who was a member of the Bourbon dynasty. By the end of the 18th century, there were dozens, if not hundreds, of distilleries producing various types of whiskey in these and surrounding territories. Therefore, to distinguish whiskey made from corn from traditionally made from rye and wheat, giving the name bourbon.

The composition of Elijah Craig bourbon must include 51% corn, and the rest consists of various varieties of wheat. The alcohol strength during distillation should be no more than 80%. A significant difference between bourbon is the absence of a grain malting stage. Basically, the wine material after distillation is filtered through maple charcoal. The bourbons of Elijah Craig brand is aged in barrels for 8-12 years. During this time, about 2/3 of the total volume goes to the angel's share, and the remaining part is bottled with a preliminary measurement of the strength. Its value should not exceed 47%.

Evan Williams Bourbon is made according to a time-tested recipe, according to which it has been produced since 1783. The peculiarity of the technology involves the use of the famous water from Kentucky. The bourbon blend consists of highly purified grain and malt alcohols that have passed through multi-stage filtration using activated carbon. After refining, the whiskey is placed in new American white oak barrels for over 5 years. In 2011, Malt Advocate Magazine's awarded Evan Williams Bourbon the title of "Best Buy Whiskey of the Year."

Evan Williams is the second largest selling bourbon brand in the United States and in the world. Evan Williams was a Welsh immigrant who established his distillery on the banks of the Ohio River in 1783. He is considered the first bourbon producer in Kentucky.

The history of Heaven Hill Distilleries began after the repeal of Prohibition in 1934. The Shapiro brothers founded the first distillery and decided to call it William Heavenhill - in honor of the military man who became famous during the Indian War, but during registration they made a mistake and registered the distillery as "Heaven Hill" (Paradise Hill). They decided not to correct the error. On November 7, 1996, a fire occurred in the town of Bardstown and the distillery building burned to the ground. Along with it, 29 million liters of whiskey were destroyed, which amounted to 2% of the total US reserves. Eyewitnesses of those events tell how aged bourbon spilled throughout the area in the form of burning rivers. The new home for Heaven Hill is the Bernheim distillery, purchased from Diageo.

Today, Heaven Hill Distilleries produces three different spirits: bourbon with wheat as an additional grain ("Old Fitzgerald"), bourbon with rye ("Evan William") and rye whiskey ("Rittenhouse Rye").
